A little excerpt I read about Practical Thinking.
I was blind-sided the other day when someone commented that although my so-called plans for my future were "nice", I wasn't being practical. Very much true. Maybe in some respects, I was thinking the same thing, but just chose to ignore that doing what I want to do and being able to do them are on two different parallels.
Going back to school is starting to feel even more pressure-filled as 1) I need to finish, 2) I'm behind all of my peers, 3) I have to stick with my change of major this time around, and 4) I'll need to get a job with my future BA in order to secure my future – thus being practical for once.
Ugh!
Can't I be a kid again? Can't I go back to the time when I didn't have to be practical? How about I just become a practical joker instead? That seems more fun.
Practical reason defines a distinctive standpoint of reflection. When agents deliberate about action, they think about themselves and their situation in characteristic ways. What are some of the salient features of the practical point of view?
A natural way to interpret this point of view is to contrast it with the standpoint of theoretical reason. The latter standpoint is occupied when we engage in reasoning that is directed at the resolution of questions that are in some sense theoretical rather than practical; but how are we to understand this opposition between the theoretical and the practical? One possibility is to understand theoretical reflection as reasoning about questions of explanation and prediction.
Looking backward to events that have already taken place, it asks why they have occurred; looking forward, it attempts to determine what is going to happen in the future. In these ways, theoretical reflection is concerned with matters of fact and their explanation. Furthermore it treats these issues in impersonal terms that are accessible (in principle) to anyone. Theoretical reasoning, understood along these lines, finds paradigmatic expression in the natural and social sciences.
Practical reason, by contrast, takes a distinctively normative question as its starting point. It typically asks, of a set of alternatives for action none of which has yet been performed, what one ought to do, or what it would be best to do. It is thus concerned not with matters of fact and their explanation, but with matters of value, of what it would be desirable to do. In practical reasoning agents attempt to assess and weigh their reasons for action, the considerations that speak for and against alternative courses of action that are open to them.
Moreover they do this from a distinctively first-personal point of view, one that is defined in terms of a practical predicament in which they find ourselves (either individually or collectively people sometimes reason jointly about what they should do together).
Sigh, I hate sometimes being practical in life, but sometimes it is best that we be practical. So to all out there! Forget about being sentimental or emotional whether with you family, loved ones, work or your social life. Strive to aim at your goals instead of wasting time and "acting cute", "Mushy", "angry", "upset"...etc. Just a suggestion. A little practicality goes a long way!

Rite, been awhile since I posted stuff pertaining to myself here, so here goes.
Yesterday, being a Sunday, I woke up at about 8:30am. Yeah, I know! Madness! Its a Sunday for crying out loud and I woke up so early! Sheesh.
Well, since I was up, I thought, I might as well do some stuff with substance. I thought that is. I wanted to photocopy my tuition flyers. Yeah planning to give tuition. Need the doe to survive here man! Think about it! What about Career, Marriage, Kids, Retirement?! Talk about being dramtic, but well, face it people! Its the truth! Do you know how much it is to be pregnant and spend on babies nowadays?! Sheesh. I know! Used to work in a Gynae clinic as a PR Exec.
But, no matter, the joys of being pregnant and bearing the little one inside sure give Mums-to-be happiness far beyond! So to all Mums & Mums-to be out there, Congratualations for bringing a new life out into this balanced world.
Now back to my day. Like I said, I thought I would like to go down to Jurong East to make the photocopies, but I didn't. I was completely lazing around the whole day. Spending quality time with my laptop I guess. Nuthing much took place either, just a normal Sunday...AND Today, I'm all back to work. Doing legal cases ain't easy, but hey! I've got wonderful lawyers here and a wonderful boss.

It's not everyday, one stumbles upon a very precious gem worth so much yet no value can match. People just don't have happiness coming to them in a split glance unless some lucky chap wins the lottery. Somethings just come along as the years past and those who receive may or may not just know how to treasue its value.
I was one such person. My life's had its ups and downs as well as many twists and turns. Not many may have faced some circumstances as I, but perhaps they would have heard about it or maybe, also faced similar situations. All that I could say is I wasted about 5-6 years of my life depending on some unfortunate, irrelevant worries. Sweet talk, lies, deceit! These are the current words I can emphazie now to re-trace, however, those years that I wasted, I used words such as, "pitiful, sympathy, lost love, sorry state". Gosh, thinking about these words now makes my blood boil. Anyone in my situation would have felt like they were under some sort of spell. Unfortunately for me it took me 5 years to be able to break the spell.
In these wasted years of mine, there was always this person so close and dear to me who saw me through the hardships. Though not close as buddies, we had our own bond that held us till today. Both of us have seen each other through our muddy waters and how we've surfaced from it.
I like to take this opportunity to thank you gratefully. I know very well, without you, I'll be nothing, perhaps reduced to ashes and floating down the Singapore Rivers. You are worth so much to me, that I feel , nothing is the world is comparable to you in your way of confidence, practical motives, loving gestures, nurturing words and top of it all, your ambitious birth. I thank you for bringing me out of the gallows and giving love a new name, a new begining.
Being with you darling, you make me feel more woman, more than a human being but one that is given the purpose of a birth. I see myself being born to serve you, give you the happiness you deserve and live life with you for eternity.
I thank you graciously for joining your hand with mine, to walk the path of life together. Being with you, my past seem extinct. I know not anyone, but you and only you.
I love you Nishan Pillai! With all my heart and soul will I cherish you till the end of time and beyond, for you're me, just one soul, mind and only one heart. Our heart!

Welcome to the new world of Count Tunitha...Sheesh. I still have not gotten over Jim Carrey's movie yet.
So, what do you guys think of my new page? The obvious design credits do of course go to my sis! What a wonderful sister I have, not to forget I am suppose to pay her as well for doing this. Finally a blog I can say of my own. With originality.
Okie, coming to current issues. Hello World, all my chicky spots are gone. Come to think of it, I am not too sure if I even had it. The spots were not that many(TOUCHWOOD!!). Perhaps I would get a second round. But I guess its for the better.

Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers, but was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said,"These damn girls nights out have got to stop. My wife came home lastnight without her panties." "That's nothing," said the other. "Mine cameback with a sympathy card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said,'From all of us at the Fire Station, Well never forget you!'

Right people, buck up and hear this out. Gossip column's going through some changes, in fact, a full makeover!! Its no longer gonna be called the Gossip Column but something else. Look out for it.
Reason being, well! Thats for me to know, and you guys out there to crack your mind out. Its gonna be a little gossip plus well on the lines along "What da hell?!!".
Right, thats about all for that. Coming to my events. Yeah, busy busy busy were the words I gotta scream out. Thank god, yesterday was a breather. Met my would-be and went to catch "Series of Unfortunate Events". Hmm, I'll be good and not let the cat out f the bag with regards to the story.
After that, hung around, had a drink, had satay and went back. Wasn't too bad though! Normal "Relaxed" Saturday Night!
I am right now, doing this journie of mine at my "woggles" place. Gona go out for lunch at his relative's place all for the reason of viewing a bird! Yeah man, I've got fishes, a lovable doggy and now, a bird! Hehe, yeah my own mini zoo.
Funny how these animals are much better than some human animal barbarics around.

If you think of the same gal when you are happy & sad, that's the most perfect. But if you don't think of the same gal, I would advise you to chose the one you are willing to share your sadness with.In life, there are more sorrows than happiness.
There are too many people that u meet that u can share your happiness with, not necessary your lover.If you live your life happily, you can also enjoy it alone.In sadness, however, there are not many people willing to share your burden with you.
If you are willing to tell someone your happiness, I am sure that person has got to be someone close & an understanding person to you.But it shouldn't stop there. If that person only thinks of you when she is happy, but looks for someone else when she is sad, this lover is too unstable, she doesn't treat you as someone she can spend the rest of her life with.

I know I have not been being good by writing continuously, but then who cares!? Its my blog anyways.

Adeline's dad stood just behind her. His face was grim.
To Rocky he looked very good-looking. He could see why Adeline looked good. She had picked up the traits from her dad.
However, his facination over her dad stopped when he yelled at Adeline to go back home. His stare towards Rocky made him weak.
Adeline disappeared within seconds. Jineva was beaming al over. She had wanted this to happen. At least this will bring her Adeline back to her....to be continued.

I came across this and I really felt it should be shared with all reading my blog. Have a look!
By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?" And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart-and she will do everything with only two hands."
The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model? That's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish." But I won't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days." The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord." "She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish." "Will she be able to think?", asked the angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one." "That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, "that's a tear!" "What's the tear for?" the angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing."
And she is! Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, THERE IS ONE MAJOR FLAW IN WOMEN. >>>>>>> They forget their worth.

Whoa, now there, excuse me for my rude start. Thing is my fiance and I went down to Marches(I think thats how its spelt, else please forgive me!) and ate like two little pigs.
Let me see now, he ordered his favourite Lamb Chops with mashed potatoes. This was his main of course. My main was erm (don't laugh!) a Hunter's Sausage with black pepper sauce. Our side dishes were, well, a regular sized pizza and two bowls of mushroom soup. Our dessert was a scoop of ice-cream each.
In case you were wondering, no, we weren't celebrating a special occasion or anything. Was just a one off thingy.
So because of yesterday's fulfilling dinner, I had been letting out air (rite, that was disgusting I know! But its the truth!!!) from last night. Once I was back home, I went to shower in my newly bought "Spa Shower" from Eversoft and its freaking relaxing.
All I needed was to hit the bed. It was lights out.

Rocky sounded frantic. He had told Jineva he wanted to go up to Adeline's place to confront her. Jineva knew not what to be done. She stood still like a rock and kept thinking. This wasn't happening, she mumbled. I had everything planned. Rocky isn't this type who cared so much if a girl treats him differently. Something's wrong she concluded.
"Wait there, I'll come see you. Don't just go up. Her dad may throw you out." Jineva urgently told him. Rocky exhaled a short fast gush of breath. Jineva took that as an agreement to him waiting for her.
Beads of sweat were forming on Rocky's forehead. He could not have Adeline not talking to him. He had enjoyed the days of her company when she used to talk hours with him. This feeling, he kept pondering was not going away. He could keep hearing Adeline's voice over and over again in his head.
"Rocky!!" That same sounded ringed, this time more realistic and loud. It wasn't Adeline's illusional voice, but the one of Jineva's. She motioned him over to the stone table and seats before her as she walked towards him.
"Why did she do this? She's not like that! I've seen and spoken to many girls but she's different! Something's wrong!!" Rocky blurted out to her. Jineva calmly smiled at him saying "Don't judge the book by the cover. She's like that. I know her. I'm only friends with her due to the fact she's a good company, but her personal life is different. That will be her."
Rocky turned blue. He was speechless, just as Jineva wanted him to be. She took him by the hand and leaded him along the path for him to leave.
"What are the both of you doing here?" Adeline asked in surprise.
Jineva bit her lip and closed her eyes. Rocky stared on.
"We were just leaving. We came to get something for a friend." Jineva cooly answered.
"You have to go. My parents are home. Quick. They will be down soon." rushed Adeline almost sobbing.
"Adeline, who are you talking to?!" The sound so familiar to Adeline and Jineva, yet distant to Rocky...to be continued.

I have been like so busy doing erm, some things that I competely overlooked and was too exhausted to do a blog yesterday. I do beg your pardon, however, I'm not gonna bore you with the happenings of yesterday. It was basically, well, waking up, macdonald's breakfast, rushing to a surprise birthday function, and then, back home.
There. That was a short brief. Right on, I gonna continue my gossip. So what do you think happened? Hmm, look on below. By the way, hope no one throws anything at me this instance because I'm gonna take the plunge of getting a column of "The love doctor's in".
Yeah yeah, I may not be that experienced, but many around me do know I am capable of contributing some good advice. So if you got something disturbing you, you can share it with me and I can see what I can tell you to do. How you guys wanna name yourselves in the fooblechat/problemers is entirely up to you. Just take my 2 cents worth advice if you want to, or you can always take it as an opinion, and judge it from there.
I'm not going to be responsible for the mishappenings or consequences that will take place after the advice I give. But, I can let you know, whatever you may be feeling, there's always someone to be able to understand your situation. Advice may help soothe it, but to implement the actions "AHH", thats where you come in.
Rite, now, on with my gossip.

Jineva, always being the victim of jealousy, realised that her one and only best friend Adeline has been neglecting her. The only way to get her back, was to get her grounded or punished in some way, where she won't be able to do anything, and that is exactly what she did.
Jineva informed Adeline's parents of her friend's misbehaviour towards guys. A false statement causing Adeline's strict, staunch, conservative parents to bring down Adeline's whatever left freedom she had.
Rocky had called to ask Jineva about Adeline. He needed to know why she hasn't been calling him. He sounded desperate. Jineva, on the other hand cooly told him "She doesn't like you. She only spoke to you for past time sake because I was busy. I'm free now, so she doesn't want you anymore". With that Rocky slammed the phone down. He started thinking. This isn't Adeline. She appeared too sweet to do such a thing. Should he just confront her? Should he just leave it?
Thoughts of her ran through his mind. He has never met a person such as her. Simple, straight, yet behaved and composed. Her tolerance is unimaginable. What was this feeling he had towards her? How was he to know? He couldn't sleep, nor erase her of his mind like how he did to the other girls. He couldn't.
Jineva smiled. She had achieved her goal. Adeline was hers to control now. Adeline's parents listened only to her. Now Adeline's been stripped of her phone. She replied to Adeline's dad's phoneline that Adeline had messaged her with. "I didn't do anything. He was making bets to win you over. I tried to stop him. He challenged me. I had no choice but to save you. I had to let your parents know. I do not know who else have told them anything. I only told them to take care of you".
With that Jineva smiled. A broad one. Her work was done. Just then, the phone rang. It was Rocky. Again. This time, sobbing. Jineva's expression changed. It wasn't news of his loss. It was news of her disappointment. He was calling from under Adeline's apartment....to be continued.
