Good morning to all.
Started my day in pink. I was supposed to wear a white-pink-pin-stripped pants, but ended up wearing my deep pink netted long skirt. I've been wearing pants since the time I started work. To match the bottom, I wore a pink plain sleevless top and a white and pink stripped cardigan. Yes! Too pink for my personality, but then again, what the hell, it's not everyday I dress this way! My classes are starting today as well. Electronic Media and Public Relations. Wow, for two days in a week I'll be reaching home only by midnight! Sigh! Well, I guess it's for the best. If I don't suffer and work hard now, I know I'll never will!
I can't belive I am waking up at 610am everyday and leaving my place at 7am just to reach work by 830am. I think perhaps the waking up isn't too bad compared to my journey to work! Sigh! Check out my schedule!
I wake up at 610am - Take a dump and shower by 620am - Do my routine moisturising, powdering and body spraying - Grab my bag(which I had already packed day before), my shoes and try to leave as silently as possible so as not to wake my hubby's slumber(He only wakes up at 715am) - Leave my house at 7am - Walk about 5-8 mins to the 913 bus stop - Take the bus to Woodlands Mrt by latest 715am - Take the Pasir Ris Train by 720am - Arrive at Clementi by 755am - Walk to the bus stop opposite Clementi Station and try to take 183 or 183A by 810am - Reach my office at Science Park II by 830am.
Now tell me, isn't this a journey to be dreaded. Well, to keep myself distracted, I listen to the radio and read a book. Its actually a great way to catch up on reading, but it sure takes skill to stand in the buses and train to read a book. Right, that's my daily routine of morning exercise.
Past few days have been quite monotonous actually. Saturday night my hubby and I went down to Woodlands Mrt and borrowed a few VCDs. Oh gosh, I can only remember Zodiac and a local Singapore documentary on the "Super Natural", can't remember what the other 2 were. All I know I've got to return them by tomorrow. Sigh! We only managed to watch the Singapore documentary. It was quite interestiing because it covered places like the old Changi hospital, Pulau Ubi, certain other parts of isoloated Singapore where they captured photographs of 'mysterious sightings'. After watching that, I think we watched Spongebob and then slept. Next morning, ate my father in law's fish curry and fried fish, then sent my husband for his work and went back to my mum's place. My husband was involved in the ND's Rally.
I went to my mum's place in Jurong because, she had booked badminton courts in the new Jurong West Sports Hall. It was a hell of a workout!! It's been like so long since I played. It was quite disappointing to see that I had become so rusty, but luckily my dad was there to straighten me out. I was back to my old style of playing. Still trying my best to smash though! Not enough power yet...My cousin joined us for the game, and later we chilled back at my mum's place and watched the Rally. I was slightly disappointed that we aren't getting more cash outs...haha, yeah, guess I have been to pampered by the government's generosity, but then again, I guess the CPF thing is a good measure. What a waste for me that there are now new policies on the HDB ruling. So sad that we had lost out on the government goodies by 1 month. Anyways, got mu hubby's message that hewas gonna leave, so my cousin and I picked him up from JE and we headed back to woodlands. That was about all on a Sunday night. Monday morning, I almost became too lazy to go to work. Well, it was raining!!! The first thought that came to my mind was the journey, so I was kind of hoping I so did not have to go to work, but something just struck me, and I litterally forced myself out of bed and headed to work. It was a good thing I came too, because, so many didn't turn up in my office and it's a kind of a popular habit that people normally take Leaves or MCs on Mondays and Fridays(for those who don't work on Saturdays). I guess they would just like an extended weekend. I had that habit as well and I saw where it landed me. So this time around, I am trying my very best to kick that habit out!
For the first time after work, I took the shuttle bus to Harbour Front and it was the first time I was actually seeing Vivo City! Yes yes, I am one of the pathetic souls who hasn't checked it out yet. But then again, it's just another shopping centre! And just more money that I'm gonna wanna spend! So, at present not going to Vivo is pretty ok for me. I was suppose to meet my sis at tekka to get my Onam clothes sewn. Mum had bought kerala saries much earlier and this time we're using those saries to make suits! Yup yup! So from Harbour Front, took the train to Little India, met my sis, went to the shop, gave the clothes, gave our measurments and then went to Apollo Banana Leaf to feast. Haha, it was my sister's treat, so whilst we were there, I waited for my hubby and my parents to join us. It was the first time I was having KEEMA NAAN! It was awesome!! But dammn filling. We went back to our homes after that.
Watched Spongebob and slept. Looks like Spongebob's in our regular routine. Haha! Those who watch it, it's simply addictive! Lottsa double meanings and mature concepts! Well thats about all for now.
Cheers,
Tunitha

Friday, August 10
Hello..
What a very short holiday. Before I could blink thrice, I'm back at work.
Great. Well, office's a total dead town. Many of them have gone on leave or went out to site. I guess there's only like 4 of us in the office at the moment. Gosh, can't wait for 530 to knock off.
I had a lazy holiday yesterday actually because I only woke up at 130pm. Haha... yes! Well don't accuse me of any names yet. I had only come back home yesterday at about 7am. Wednesday night, my hubby & I went out at about 10 plus to meet up with our friends to chill. We chilled till 6am in the morning. So as I was sayin, it was a totally lazy day. I woke up, actually was woken up by my husband :P, showered, fiddled with my laptop, ate lunch (chicken kurma and sambal chilli proudly cooked by my father-in-law) and then went back to my bedroom and lied down to catch Alien 3 on star movies. Once that ended, I went out of the room to catch whatever remainder of the NDP and ate Durian with my mother-in-law. After that , I remembered I had to buy body powder as mine had totally finished. So went dow to the ABC shop to get it. The coffeeshop and this shop were the only shops open at that time. They didn't have my favorite Lavender Talc, so I settled for Johnson's Baby powder. The Pink one. Its so smooth and nice. Bought that, went back home, washed up, and slept! Haha..such a boring day.
Oh yeah, I wanted to tell you girls this...there's this product called Nivea whitening deodrant! Its simply fab. The scent and the comfor you feel whole day is superb. Makes you feel as though you kept taking your shower to keep smelling fresh! So much so, I was in the bus on the way to work today that there was this chinese-high-positioned-working looking lady asked me what's the perfune I had on. For a moment I then realised that I had not actually splashed my E-spirt perfume my sis got me. I thought she was offended by my odour and being scarstic, so I told her, sorry, I kinda forgot to spray my usual scent today. She laughed so loudly that eveyone turned and looked at us. The she said, "Oh no no, you have this refreshing smell near your shoulders. Did you use anything?" So I followed her finger to my shoulders and took a sniff, true enough it was the Nivea deodrant. Told her the product and even where to get it from. From what I remember she was having Issey Miaki on her. I've never liked that scent. Found it too...well..overpowering.
So anyways, yeah, you can find Nivea at gurdian or watsons. Once you try it, you'll know what I mean. Oh and it acts as a whitening agent to your underarms. Sorry to be really unflattering, but I'm sure many of us shave and because of that, it just becomes dark, so this one actually lightens making it better and natural. So your underarms won't look so unsightly when you lift up your hands and expose beneath ;p.
Right, thats all for now, oh gosh another almost half an hour more at work to escape.
Cheers,
Tunitha

Wednesday, August 8
Whao... I'm simply loving it at the moment on my 3rd day of work. I can't fully assure I'm on honeymoon at the moment, but I can safely say, it's a total cultur shock movin from a law firm to my new place.
The first best thing is that I can wear anything to work! Hello Jeans & T-shirts!!! Wow, I've never worn so extremely casually to work. So bloody comfortable.
The second best thing are my colleagues. They are totally fabulous! Jokers and people that really don't judge you for your background, but simply down-to-earth people. It's this kind of a nature that makes the working environment great to work in.
The third best thing is that, here when given a job to do, no one cares how you do it as long as it's done within that period. No dragons breathing down your neck or SOPs to follow!!! There's so much to learn and no one turns their back to say no when you wanna learn something.
Well, its an MNC, but a totally different working style. Here they believe in team work and how to better the environment than to force upon certain rules and regulations. Once again I thank my uncle for recommending me.
Well, I can't be just talking about the pros..... one setback would be the journey. Sigh, I gotta leave my place at 645am to be able to reach my office by 815am. I start at 830 and end at 530. It's a 5 day week. I gotta take a feeder from my place to the mrt, then another feeder to my work place. But I guess it's woth it, as for once, I'm highly enthusiatic to arrive at work.
The other cool thing is that this place doesn't have much of eating outlets but there's this free lunch hour shuttle that brings us to various foodcourts on each day. For each day, it's a different foodcourt! How cool is that?! Today however, some of my colleagues drove out to a different place to eat. Lottsa eatries just outside this area.
Finally, I've started becoming more money conscious. I can't explain the sudden change, but somehow, as I was at home, I realised, apart from not working and enjoying the bare necessities of life, in order for me to start a family or any other plans, I gotta be totally settled and comfortable in life, or else, I for sure know I'd be struggling. So concurrently whilst settling my goals, I gotta earn the extra bucks as well.
Okay, on a different topic, I went for my uncle's birthday yesterday. It was really quite interesting because it was the first time my grandparents were actually setting foot in his house! So, as usual we took alot of photos. I'll be blogging that up in the next post. Till then take care and advance national day greetings to all. Wow, I just realised my fourth day of work I'm getting a holiday!
Hehe!
Cheers,
Tunitha

Sunday, August 5
Helloooo..
Yeah, I know! I haven't blogged properly in months.Okay, I'm gonna start blogging more then. I hope.
Well here's the thing. Always remember never to work in a small indian firm. I know I'm being racist, but hey, its the truth and I think everyone who has had a part of that working experience will know it. Well, I've had enough a share of my experiences. I failed to realise that once bitten twice shy is in evident.
So, I had to quit the firm and was well, jobless awhile. About a month I think. That's when I realised that not working was such a great thing. No stress, more time with family, more time for myself! Wow, it was extraordinary, but then again, reality always kicks in and I then realise, I've got commitments to meet...blah blah blah....so, here I am now already landed in a job. Thanks would go to my uncle for helping me out.
It seems like a fine job, but this time, I've told myself not to play punk and be dead serious about it!! Somehow I can't lose the "characteristics of my zodiac creature" in me. Trying my very best too. I'm also so darn happy I've got my own place as well. It's really God's blessings that we did not have to spend so much on the house cos, it's already designer-decored, HDB Executive, the layout is simply fab, the ex-owners are leaving behind most of their imported furnitue, so what else can I actually ask for..simply heavenly. I really can't wait to move in but we're taking it slow. Its better to be setted properly and move into a place where you know you can call it a home and relax.
I've got so many goals too I want to actually try to complete by next year march.
1. MY ADV DIP
2. License
3. House Reno
4. Hitting the 50k mark
5. Losing another 5kg
6. Market a friend's products to reach at least 120k in a yr.
7. Become a free lance events organiser.
Wow, quite a mouthful huh, but I think it should be fine. Hoping to achieve them anyway.
Oh yes, finished reading HARRY POTTER! Don't look at me that way, I'm not really a fan, I just somehow liked the concept of how a child's story can turn into quite a dark interesting tale. Now, the best part is I can't wait for the movies to see how they've done it up. For those who have read the book, many will be disappointed with the way the movies churned out, but to those who have not read the book, it's the movies that actually give them a hint of how HARRY looks like and what are the things he faces.
Another movie I've caught was transformers! For those who had missed it, you guys ARE TOTALLY HOPLESS!!!! It was the best ever! TOTALLY NOSTALGIC FOR ME! I still remember how I used to play with their toys with my cousins. I loved BUMBLEBEE. He's so darn cool!!!
Knocked up is a hopeless comedy, but pls, only 18 & above should actually watch it.
That's all for movies. I'm so digging my new laptop! But this time I'm buying the proper anti-virus software. Got my new phone to!! Hahaha....yes yes...I'm a phone freak if you guys still don't already know.
Right now, I'm just waiting for my father in law to finish cooking lunch - NAAN & MUTTON CURRY!! I love marriage life! Who ever said it was terrible living with your in-laws? It's actually quite fun!!! I'm being pampered all over again! Hehehe.
Oh, by the way, new job's in jurong. Wow! Its a familiar place. This time I'm gonna have fun!
Cheers,
Tunitha
